PRINCIPLE

The test utilizes a competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. The sample is added to the wells of a microplate coated with anti-25-OH Vitamin D antibodies. The 25-OH Vitamin D in the sample competes with a conjugated enzyme-labeled 25-OH Vitamin D for binding to the antibodies. After washing to remove unbound components, the enzyme substrate is added, producing a colorimetric change that is inversely proportional to the concentration of 25-OH Vitamin D in the sample.

PRECAUTION FOR USERS

1. Handling should preclude any pipetting by mouth. Use only pipettes with disposable tips for each specimen.

2.Do not mix materials from different master lots. Do not use kit components beyond the expiration date.

3.All materials should be brought to room temperature before use.
